Channel 86 is a home-grown media server, built on a Linux platform, using other tools for media recording/playback. Most media is played back using MPlayer, and the system is controlled using an X10 RF remote. Video is output using a Voodoo 3 with TV out, which is plugged into a Channel Plus 3501 RF modulator, which dumps the video onto channel 86 of the cable TV signal for my house. This enables any TV in the house to display the media server. Background graphics were created by Phox(insert link here), and have made a huge improvement in the looks of the interface. The anti-aliased font also goes a long way in aiding the readability. Current feature set includes navigation of directories, file playback (including from a pre-defined playlist), Currently the code is not in a state to be released, its all very specific to my setup at home.
